Take Part

Police officers participate in Start Smart Stay Safe (S4) by working with teachers to present an S4 activity to children in the classroom. During these visits, police officers reinforce key messages about strengths, problem solving, calming strategies, trusted relationships, and serving others.

Officers build positive relationships with children through classroom interactions, one-on-one discussions, and taking part in school-wide events. Police officers also build relationships with families through Family Learning Sessions and school celebrations.

As a positive presence in the schools, police act as role models to show children the importance of working together to keep the community safe.
